South West Canada – single yellow spot showing up second year in a row, in the exqct same location!!. Why?

I don't own a dog, and find it unlikely that someone else's dog would have caused this in the exact same spot second year in a row.

Neighborhood does have some grub problems but so far I haven't seen much of them in my yard.

Any other explanation? Thinking of just cutting this out and replacing with sod. I'm that annoyed by it on an otherwise satisfactory lawn.

Thanks!

Probably a rock or something a few inches down.

Does sun reflect there in the evening, off a window or car?

Go stick a screwdriver down into the center – is there something down there?

Look for a Chihuahua giving you side eye on your next walk through the neighborhood.

  5. Such beautiful right angles, kind of like those two blocks.

Bet it’s your water shut-off or some sorta access panel.

Could be a rock close to the top of the soil but still under the grass

Had this issues for years, was a broken gas line leaking in the yard.

I’m betting a single asphalt roof shingle. Baking rectangle

either dig it up or urine but looks very square to be an animal peeing

This is so exciting, can’t wait to see the dig.

Could be sun damage from a reflection from a window or something.

The internet has convinced me there is a rock right there. You now must create a 3 part mini series digging it up.

Don’t forget to create a store selling shirts, and coffee mugs and then auction off the rock once you finally find it.

  14. Everyone is saying to just dig, but that’s an electrical box in the corner of the pic, isn’t it? I’d likely just immediately grab a shovel myself in most cases, but this is awfully close to that box. I’d check with 811 to see what is buried where first.

I had a spot like this. It was a reflection from a mirror.

there is a window or something reflective that nails that spot

keep an eye on it, i bet at a certain time of day you see it
